Hi I’m Hannah founder of ‘My Craftea Day’. I have a slight obsession
with fabrics, buttons, ribbons and vintage china! I love to sew and create stylish textiles, cushions, bags and clothes combining vintage and contemporary fabrics, details and styling. I studied textile design at art college and Fashion design at university and have since had 13 years designing for the high street. I am currently a freelance childrenswear designer, I have a PTLLS teaching qualification and have lectured in Fashion Design at Worcester College of Design and Technology and Wolverhampton University.
I started ‘My Craftea Day’ in 2010 after getting together with a group of friends who all share a love for craft. We decided at our next catch up we would bring our sewing machines and knitting needles and craft whilst we chatted and drank wine! It made me wonder if more people would like to get together and do the same thing.
After researching I realised that whilst there were other craft workshops around many were weekly courses and none appeared to be offering the social or indulgent side that I thought people would enjoy! So I set out to create an experience that inspires people of all craft abilities to give it a go, to help them learn traditional craft skills with a sophisticated and modern twist and most importantly to eat cake and have fun!
