I'm writing this on a train in an attempt to try and get a bit more on top of my social networking duties. At the moment it's proving a bit of a struggle as the wireless connection is a bit slow. I'm overdue as always on my blog posts but today I have a treat for you -2 blog posts! I have 3hrs 13 mins of internet access left so I'm making the most of it!
I wanted to write and tell you about a hen do that I did back in April for 25 hens! They had hired a lovely B&B farmhouse cottage in Wokingham for the weekend. I had a lovely space and a large table in the conservatory to set up all my craft stuff and fabrics and the girls set up all the vintage china I supplied in the lounge with a gorgeous spread of cakes and afternoon tea. I felt a little underdressed or dressed in the wrong era as the girls were all in 1980's disco/aerobics wear I was glad I had brought the neon pink tulle and ribbon with me!
I started by demonstrating 2 techniques of fabric corsages that they could choose from or make both if they had time. Then as with all our workshops they had time to choose the fabrics ribbons and trims they wanted to use from a large selection that I had taken along. This is one of my favourite parts of the workshop as it's really interesting to see the fabric/colour combinations that people choose and I like to help and advise if people don't know where to start! It also gave me a good opportunity to try my new purchase out - a gorgeous wooden stand that I have painted and use it to store all my gorgeous ribbons in colour order!! I think its a good way to keep a bit more organised in my craft room too and keep my eye on stock levels! What do you think?.....
The hens all did brilliantly even the ones who said they hadn’t sewn since school and I think they had a nice relaxing afternoon drinking champagne, eating cake, chatting and sewing! As always it was really great to meet everyone and see all their finished creations. I’ve attached a photos of the day below!
